About Aerspace Week

Established in 2021, Aerospace Week was created to celebrate and strengthen Oklahoma’s aerospace ecosystem while inspiring the next generation of innovators, engineers, pilots, and technicians who will shape the future of flight.

Hosted in partnership with the Oklahoma City Innovation District and the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, Aerospace Week brings together leaders from industry, government, education, and the community to highlight one of Oklahoma’s most important economic sectors.

At the center of Aerospace Week is AERO Oklahoma: Aviation, Aerospace & Defense Awareness Day at the Oklahoma State Capitol, typically held on the Wednesday of the week. Organized by the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics, the event brings together aerospace companies, military leaders, educators, and policymakers for a day of exhibits, networking, and conversations with state legislators. The gathering highlights the scale and impact of Oklahoma’s aerospace industry while giving leaders an opportunity to advocate for continued investment in innovation, workforce development, and economic growth.

Throughout the week, organizations across Oklahoma host events that showcase key pillars of the aerospace ecosystem including defense partnerships, unmanned aerial systems, emerging technologies, workforce development, and STEM education. Programming ranges from industry briefings and innovation showcases to educational outreach and public community events designed to connect students, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals.

With aerospace serving as Oklahoma’s second-largest industry, Aerospace Week is designed to grow awareness, strengthen partnerships, and expand pathways into aerospace careers while celebrating the people, companies, and institutions driving innovation across the state.

By bringing together industry leaders, researchers, educators, policymakers, and the broader community, Aerospace Week highlights Oklahoma’s role in shaping the future of aviation, aerospace, and advanced technology.
